Q355 Steel D28 Welding Table
,D28 Welding Fixture Table
,Welding Table for Metal Fabrication
Our Q355 Steel D28 Welding Table for General Metal Fabrication is a precision-machined 3D welding fixture base designed for conventional metal fabrication tasks. Adopting Q355 high-strength low-alloy steel and a standard D28 100mm pitch hole system with H7 tolerance, the table undergoes stress relief and multi-pass CNC machining to secure stable starting flatness. The five-sided drilled configuration allows multi-angle clamping in the X, Y and Z axes. Optional gas nitriding offers excellent wear and anti-spatter performance. The interlockable design supports an extended working area for large fabrications. It is a practical, economical fixturing system for manual welding, fit-up and assembly, tailored for general metal fabrication rather than ultra-stable robotic high-precision continuous welding.

- Hole tolerance: Φ28mm H7 (precision bored); hole-to-hole spacing tolerance: ±0.05mm; hole axis perpendicularity to the table surface: ≤0.03mm.
- Machining sequence (critical for dimensional stability): Material cutting → welding of stiffening ribs into a frame → artificial aging (stress relief) → CNC rough milling → CNC semi-finish milling → CNC finish milling (a three-pass milling process, unlike the single-pass approach used for cheaper products) → precision boring of all Φ28mm holes → deburring → optional nitriding.
Artificial aging is a crucial step: it eliminates internal welding stresses to prevent deformation and spring-back after CNC machining. Low-cost manufacturers often skip this, leading to a loss of precision over time.
- Nitriding (optional value-added process):
- Surface hardness: HV550–900; the nitrided layer is very shallow, affecting only the surface without compromising the toughness of the Q355 base material.
- Benefits: Prevents welding spatter from fusing to the surface (spatter can be easily removed by tapping); enhances wear resistance and rust protection.
- Note: The table frame must not be welded further after nitriding, as high temperatures will destroy the nitrided layer.
- Frame painting: The stiffening ribs and legs are typically coated with an industrial epoxy primer followed by a topcoat (gray or black). The working surface must never be painted, as paint can clog the holes and compromise positioning accuracy.

- Bottom Reinforcement Ribs: An integrated, welded grid-rib structure—not merely a hollow frame. The spacing of these ribs is engineered for load-bearing, designed to distribute pressure across the tabletop and minimize thermal distortion during welding. Constructed using a combination of Q355 steel for the top plate and Q235/Q355 steel for the reinforcement ribs.
- Leg System (Optional Configuration):
- Standard Legs: Welded square-tube legs equipped with heavy-duty, adjustable leveling feet. These allow for precise height and level adjustment, ensuring a perfectly flat working surface even on uneven floors.
- Upgraded Options: Includes casters (lockable, omnidirectional wheels—ideal for frequent repositioning within a workshop) and adjustable-height legs (electric or manual crank-operated) to customize the workbench height.
- Load Capacity: Rated at 700–1000 kg per leg. The leg system is optional; the welding table itself can be placed directly on the floor or secured using anchor bolts.
- Height: The standard working height is 800 mm (the common industry standard in European and American workshops). Custom heights of 700, 850, or 900 mm are available, as are configurations exceeding 800 mm.
- Side Structure: A 5-sided machined welding table (featuring D28 holes on the top surface and all four sides) functions as a true 3D fixture system. In contrast, an economical 2D welding table features holes only on the top surface, with no side holes, limiting positioning to a 2D (flat) plane.
A: 12 months warranty against manufacturing defects. Damage caused by direct arc striking on the tabletop, heavy impact, overloading and thermal overheating is excluded.
A: Yes. We can provide a Q355 material mill certificate, dimension & flatness inspection report, and nitriding hardness test record (for nitrided tables). CE documentation is available for EU orders.
