Product Description
D16 five-sided welding table with precision-machined grid holes on the top surface and all four side walls

D16 5 Sided Welding Table For Three Dimensional Fixturing offers a complete cubic reference base for modular fixturing in welding and precision assembly. Unlike conventional 2D welding tables limited to horizontal clamping, this five-sided table features precision-machined D16 grid holes across the top plus all four side walls. With Φ16 H7 locating holes on a 50mm grid pattern, it lets engineers construct jigs freely along the X, Y and Z axes. Stress relieved and precision CNC machined, the platform ensures reliable repeat positioning, reduces setup time and cuts expenses on one-off custom fixtures for frame, sheet metal and tubular component production.

Core Strengths

Standard 2D welding tables feature holes only on the top surface, limiting clamping to a horizontal plane. Five-sided D16 welding tables include standard D16 holes on the top surface as well as all four side walls.

  1. Positioning angles, support blocks, quick-locking pins, and clamps can be mounted simultaneously on the top surface and all four side walls (front, back, left, and right). This allows for the clamping of workpieces in any position — horizontally, vertically, or at an angle — within a 3D space. Complex assemblies such as boxes, machine frames, or pipe structures can be welded in a single setup, minimizing the need for repeated repositioning and reducing welding distortion errors.
  2. Ideal for complex 3D structures, including U-shaped, box-type, and irregularly shaped frames. For small sheet metal components, thin-walled parts, and precision small-scale items, the D16 system is the preferred choice. Compared to the 100mm grid of the D28 system, the 50mm grid of the D16 system offers higher hole density, providing more positioning points for smaller workpieces.
  3. The side walls allow for modular expansion; multiple tables can be joined together to create large-scale tooling setups.
Processing Details
D16 5 Sided Welding Table For Three Dimensional Fixturing
Five-Sided Integrated CNC Machining

The top surface and all four side walls are machined in a single setup on a gantry-style CNC machine. This ensures precise perpendicularity between the surfaces and consistent alignment of hole patterns. In contrast, tables machined using multiple separate setups often suffer from misalignment between the side-wall holes and top-surface holes, which can cause pins to jam during fixture assembly.

  • Hole Machining: Precision reaming to H7 tolerance (Φ16.065–16.149 mm); hole position coordinate tolerance of ±0.05 mm.
  • Surface Roughness: Ra 1.6, with no visible tool marks, facilitating smooth contact and accurate positioning of workpieces.
Nitriding (Plasma or Gas Nitriding)

Nitrided layer depth: 0.3–0.5 mm; hardness: HV 550–950.

  • Advantages: Weld spatter does not easily adhere to the surface and can be removed with a light tap. The surface is highly resistant to wear, impact, and rust. Unlike paint, the nitrided layer will not peel or flake off.
  • Caution: The nitrided layer is very thin. Do not use an angle grinder directly on the table surface, as this will damage the layer, potentially leading to localized rusting and a loss of precision.
Reinforced Underside Structure

The underside of the table features a dense network of reinforcing ribs, which enhances overall rigidity and minimizes deflection under concentrated loads. The side walls are designed as thick-walled box structures — not merely thin steel plates with holes — allowing them to withstand significant lateral clamping forces.

Safety Regulations
  1. Do not exceed the rated load capacity (whether at a single point or distributed evenly) of the workbench; ensure the center of gravity of heavy objects is as close to the middle as possible.
  2. When installing tooling, ensure that locking pins are fully engaged to prevent workpieces from ejecting.
  3. Wear appropriate protective gear during welding operations; regularly clear away accumulated weld spatter to prevent inaccuracies in workpiece positioning.
  4. For versions equipped with casters: lock the casters securely before clamping any workpieces. Never move the welding table while it is under load.
  5. Electrical: Ensure that cables for robotic workstations are not routed over the reinforcement ribs located on the underside of the tabletop.
FAQ
Q1: What is your MOQ?

MOQ is 1 unit. We support single table orders as well as bulk orders for distributors and system integrators. Volume orders qualify for preferential pricing.

Q2: What payment terms can you accept?

We mainly accept T/T (30% deposit, balance before shipment). Sight L/C is available for large orders. Other payment methods can be negotiated upon request.

Q3: What is your production lead time?

Standard sizes take 15–25 working days after receiving your deposit. Custom specifications will require extra production time; we will confirm the exact schedule in your proforma invoice.

Q4: How do you pack welding tables for export shipment?

The table surface is coated with anti-rust oil and covered by protective film. Packed in IPPC plywood export crates, reinforced with steel strapping to avoid damage during sea or land transit. Table body and support legs are packed separately for easier container loading.

Q5: Can you supply commercial documents for customs clearance?

Yes. We provide commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, material certificate, factory inspection report and CE certificate. Manufacturer authorization form is available for agent tender projects.

Q6: What Incoterms can you offer?

EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP and DDP are all available. We can recommend the best shipping solution according to your destination port or address.

Whether you need a single unit for prototyping or bulk supply for your workshop expansion, the D16 5 Sided Welding Table For Three Dimensional Fixturing can adapt to your production workflow.
